I ran across the Speed Dial extension one day while browsing through Firefox extensions in search of a way to make checking the websites I maintain easier. While it is not the only extension that would do what I wanted, it is a favorite. With the Speed Dial extension, whenever I open a new tab, it loads those pages I have added to it in a grid for quick access. It provides a visual way to choose where I want to go. I find this particularly helpful since several sites I maintain have similar names. As a bonus, you can have multiple Speed Dial pages that load in that since tab, so you can organize your sites by work and personal, by clients, or whatever you need.
